Tulibot Smart Gloves & Glasses
Engineer & Idea Maker · 2019
Integrated assistive technology bridging communication for hearing-impaired people. Smart Glasses display real-time speech-to-text captions; Smart Gloves translate sign language gestures into audio output. Over 7,000 users. Global Winner Google DSC Solution Challenge 2020.
Problem & Approach
Tulibot was born from a personal experience — seeing my grandmother struggle to follow conversations due to hearing loss. She often relied on others to understand discussions, which made me realize how many hearing-impaired individuals face similar challenges daily. To bridge this gap, I developed Tulibot: Smart Glasses that convert speech into real-time text and Smart Gloves that translate gestures into speech.
Solutions & Impact
Today, Tulibot is making a real difference, with over 7,000 users integrating it into their daily lives. The Smart Glasses allow users to read conversations instantly, while the Smart Gloves give voice to sign language users. These innovations empower the deaf and hard of hearing to communicate independently, fostering confidence and inclusivity in everyday interactions.
Learning & Reflection
Building Tulibot has been a journey of learning and impact. Seeing how technology can transform lives has reinforced my passion for accessible solutions. But more importantly, I've learned that true innovation comes from listening to users and continuously improving based on their needs.
